vestry

The vestry serves as the governing board of the parish, charged with approving the budget, developing policy, approving major expenditures, and calling the rector (pastor) of the parish. It is composed of the rector, or priest-in-charge; and lay representatives elected to three year terms. The lay members include two officers, a senior warden and a junior warden, who are elected by the congregation.  The vestry elects a clerk who is responsible for taking minutes of meetings and maintaining the parish register; and elects a treasurer who is responsible for collection and disbursement of parish funds, and maintaining accounts.
